Cheap Things to Do with Kids in Center City Philadelphia, the Holiday Version

Here's an incomplete list of the Huang kids' favorite things to do downtown during the holidays, none of which costs me more than ten bucks (and, by the way, all are within walking distance of each other, so other than the two subway tokens you use to get to and from, there's no gas consumed or parking costs to worry about):

* Take a pic in front of the big Christmas tree in the courtyard of the Shops at Liberty Place (free)

* Get a smoothie from Nanee's Kitchen, a #1 at Sangkee Peking Duck, and two soft pretzels from the General Store, all under one roof at Reading Terminal Market ($8.75)

* Watch the 3-D holiday show on the big screen at Comcast Center (free)

* Watch the holiday light show at Macy's (free)

* Putter through Christmas Village outside of City Hall (free)

* Get a cream bun for Jada and a greasy pork bun for Aaron at K.C.'s Pastries in Chinatown ($1.60)

* Buy holiday card box sets and gift wrap at Dollar Tree at 15th and Chestnut, letting the kids pick out one toy each ($10 for 120 holiday cards, 60 square feet of gift cards, and two toys)
